Year is 1918. Many volunteers are joined with Estonian Army to defend their homeland and fight against Sovet Army. In others, there are smith, student and farm worker in Army. They have to go to different missions and fight in many though battles. Film was filmed in 1927 in Tartu, Tartu County, Mustvee and in Varska. Paikese lapsed (Children of the Sun) (1932) directed by Luts was the first Estonian full length sound film.After the Great Depression hit Estonia in 1930's Theodor Luts produced mostly documentaries for a state subsidized film studio Eesti Kultuurifilm and also had a successful career in Finland. 24 films by Theodor Luts made in Estonia have survived and are hold at the Estonian Film Archives.Feature films directed by Luts in Finland include Salainen ase(1943) and Varjoja Kannaksella (1943). After the World War II and Soviet Occupation of Estonia Luts emigrated to Brazil where he directed Caraca, Porta do Céu in 1950.
