One of his two robots, D.O.R. (Discovery Optical Relay), makes a lonely journey to explore a distant mountains when it detects a strange movement of stones from the top. After D.O.R. turns off mysteriously, Commander James and the other rover R.E.X. (Relations Experiment Explorer) goes to the place where D.O.R.'s signal gave its last location.
